Sasha Grey Shoot at the Chemosphere

I just can’t get enough of the Chemosphere, sitting high in the Hollywood hills just off of Mulholland Drive. Built in 1960 on a block that was considered to be practically unbuildable due to it’s 45 degree slope architect John Lautner’s solution was to perch the 200m2 living space atop a 30ft (9m) concrete pole and make it accessible via a funicular.

Richard Phillips recently shot a film portrait of Sasha Grey that featured the famed Chemosphere and is definitely worth checking out. You may also recognize it from its use in the first Charlies Angels film.
